Bmw Clutch

Time to change the clutch on my e36 328is came, and I have some questions about it. What are the differences between the OEM clutch, and stage 1, 2, 3, 4 clutch? I assume it has something to do with race applications, but they last longer, they affect daily driving? Any help would be appreciated!

The steps are for different applications.

If I remember correctly Stage 2 is for sports / racing and 4 for drag racing.
