Do I collect my bags in Washington before going through customs when I'm switching to a domestic flight? I fly outside the United States in the DC, then have a domestic flight to DC. I wonder if I should get my luggage before duty and then re-check in for my domestic flight? Or if my bags will be checked throughout my final destination?
U.S. Customs requires that all passengers to clear immigration and collect their bags at customs at their first point of entry to the United States. Yes, you should get your bags into DC and customs, but most international airports have a desk and then re-check your luggage before you connect to your domestic flight.
If another airline, you will need to collect your bags and do customs in DC.
you must collect your luggage, clear customs in your luggage and check them again on the domestic airline you fly EX DC.

I use it because prices are beginning of period (no surprises with tax and fees before buying)
It is competitive.
It had more to offer than any other site I visited.
