"Safety first sale." Throughout our lives, we hear this expression at school, at work and play. Unfortunately, even the recreational activities can constitute a threat to our well-being. Well, play a game of chess or dominoes is strong enough. However, other activities, such as full-contact sports can cause serious injury. But how about the sport of fencing? In theory, any sport involving blades can seem dangerous. Here are some factors to consider in determining the dangerousness of fencing is as follows:

1. Swordplay has existed since ancient

Historical records show sword fighting as a type of sport dates back to the ancient Egyptians. Since then, saber fencing has grown significantly. However, fencing today comes mainly from the 15th century rapier duel. A sword is a sword with a very thin point that is long and pointed. This type of duel because no armor, which has potentially very dangerous.

The fact that the fencing has a long history does not mean it is harmless in itself. However, through the centuries, technological innovations and illuminations in physiology have enabled the security fencing gear. Although fencing masks, jackets, pants, shoes, etc., are the norm for fencers today, such equipment was unavailable when the sport was born!

2. fencing blades are extremely light

Blades on the different types of fencing swords (foil, edpede, and saber), are very slim. Yes, they are still iron with pointed ends. However, this is not the swords of a mammoth that you see in movies with samurai or Conan the Barbarian. Also, from the sword fencing inspiration, the object of it is to "touch" the enemy to the letter, using the tip of your sword. Electronic equipment can immediately inform the referee and the players, when a "touch" has occurred.

3. Quality protective equipment includes fabrics resistant to puncture

These tissues, including Kevlar, can help protect against the "coup" for an attack in fencing. In fact, when the tip of the blade of the sword hits protective equipment of the enemy, bending of the blade tends to absorb most of the population. Is it possible to get some minor bumps and bruises when the fencing? Yes you can. However, selecting gear protection and quality through the door properly, you can greatly reduce your risk of injury. Types of gear you should wear the following:

aec Glove
aec Jacket
aec panties
aec Mask
aec shoes
aec socks

If you do not have to buy the best equipment possible protection, make sure that provides adequate protection!

4. Stretching can help prevent muscle injury

As in other sports, warm up before you begin your practice sessions. The thrust position makes you more prone to muscle injuries, your legs are both completely deployed. While in the push position, squat down toward the foot forward for a while. Then move your weight back to the squat and back foot.

As with any sport, be sure to put safety first when fencing. The above tips can help ensure that you enjoy the sport in a responsible manner. Enjoy!
