Winning the Bass Pro Shops/976tuna part surf fishing contest - by landing a multitude of species from the beach - was Steve Kechichian, making a 13-year pause in its fight against the much larger leukemia.
One of the greatest moments were when Paul Harris Agoura Hills and his brother, Jeff, have been greeted by a whale shark swam by 23 foot beside the boat long enough to get them to jump overboard and take a Baja sleigh ride.

Cabo nightmare continues
East Cape fishing is exceptionally bad, and a chief factor can be unrelenting fishing by large commercial seiners.
"Bad news was the seiners showed again and packed all the fish," Fly Hooker Sportfishing Captain George Landrum glumly reports. "The government can and now we have nothing to fish."
