Hiking BackpacksHow to bring back touring show?

I need tips / instructions on how to bring back proof hiking

I've never had any problem driving a black bear in my camp. If you are dealing with black bears, it will leave with a little coaxing, make noise, throw a few stones.

Buy a bear cartridge and keep all your food and scented items in her. A bear is not able to enter in one of them, they just bat around a bit. The boxes are needed in some areas, the park Yosemite is one of those areas. They cost $ 69, weighs just over 2 pounds, and make a great end table little camp.

Some of the areas I backpack in a large population of bears I saw at least four different bears one day, many times.

Over 35 years experience backpack, over 1000 nights in the backcountry.

spray pepper spray? they are like food to put something that smells bad. door can rip open cars to ... little you can do.

everything they want is food, and you can buy a carton of support for it. about 60-75 dollars, a bit expensive but worth it. You can get them at REI or Sports Authority or stores like that. Basically, you put your food in the box (and other things like toothpaste, sunscreen, lotion) and carry it in your backpack while day and night, put it like 50 ft. away from your campsite. When you go buy one, people store information about what to do with it.

^ Or just bury a small cooler.

There is no way bear any PROOF!

If a bear decides it wants your hockey equipment back away slowly and let it bear. Now, if you want to decrease the chances of finding a bear or your equipment, you must put your food and anything else in a smelly bear-proof container and put it in bear resistant food containers in campgrounds, if they them, or hang in a tree out of reach. Do not cook within 100 feet of your tent and wash when your done. If you can not feel it is a guarantee of a bear that smell '.

Now if your in bear country wear red flannel and make bells and pepper spray. The red flannel will help you be seen and the bells will help you be heard, most often bears avoid human contact. The pepper spray will give you a little chance to try to close these meetings sudden, but is not guaranteed (read the fine print). One way to know if your in bear country is to look for bear droppings, rubs, etc. I saw a 16 foot high scrub once. Now bear scat is easy to identify that it will flannel red bells and the smell of pepper spray.
