There are motorists who likes manual transmission because it gives them more control over their car and saves on gas. If you opt for a VW vehicle then a VW clutch is perfect to go with that.

A clutch is needed because the engine runs all the time, but the cars are not. For a vehicle to stop without killing the engine, the wheels must be disconnected from the engine somehow. The clutch allows motorists to engage a smooth engine to a non-spinning transmission by controlling the slippage between them.

VW clutch works because the friction between a clutch and flywheel. When the foot is the sound of the pedal, the springs push the pressure plate against the clutch disk, which in turn presses against the flywheel. This locks the engine to the transmission input shaft, causing them to spin at the same speed. The amount of force the clutch can hold depends on the friction between the clutch plate and flywheel, and how much force the spring puts on the pressure plate. When the clutch pedal is depressed, a cable or hydraulic piston pushes on the fork out, which keeps the throw-out bearing against the middle of the spring diaphragm. Since the mid-diaphragm spring is pushed, a series of pins near the outside of the spring causes the spring to pull the pressure plate away from the clutch disc. This releases the clutch motor rotation.

The most common problem with VW clutch encounter is that the friction material on the disc is finally over. The friction material on a clutch disc is very similar to the pad on the brake pads disc, it wears out. When most or all of the friction material is gone, the clutch starts to slip, and eventually it will not transmit any power from the engine to the wheels. The VW clutch does that while the clutch disc and flywheel rotate at different speeds. When they are locked together, the friction material is held tightly against the steering wheel, and spin in sync. So, if a pilot clutch slips a lot, he will clutch his is much faster. Another problem sometimes associated with clutches is a worn clutch bearing. A hollow sound when the clutch is usually a sure sign of this problem.

You can tell if a VW clutch must be replaced to start the car in gear with the handbrake, then try to slowly let the clutch. If the engine stalls, it means that the clutch is in good condition. But if the car does not stall, it probably means that the clutch must be replaced. If this is the case, you can opt for a clutch kit to remedy the problem. The VW clutch kit comes with a clutch disc or a disc friction clutch and pressure plate clutch. Some clutch kits have pilot bushings or pilot bearings. The pressure plate includes a clutch plate, springs, and release fingers. Of the two types of pressure plates, membrane-type is used more often than the pressure plate spring. Since the VW clutch kit is already complete, using this will be a better way to replace the worn clutch. This will make the car better performance than before.
